The senior management team at your chosen organisation are concerned about the high levels of absenteeism amongst the workforce and want to investigate whether it is the current management practices within the organisation that are affecting their employee‘s morale and well-being. They have asked you to prepare a detailed report on the organisation‘s structure, culture, leadership / motivational techniques, and team working approaches, in particular explaining how and why these aspects of organisation management are important factors in managing the absenteeism rates in the organisation.
Produce a formal report to the senior management team including the following:
Introduction / Executive Summary (Suggested word count 500 words)
Section 1 – Organisation Structure and Culture (Suggested word count 500 words)
Compare and contrast the organisational structure and culture that exists within your chosen organisation to that of another organisation operating in a similar industry to show how organisation structure and culture can influence business performance. (1.1, 1.2)
Section 2 – Leadership, Management and Motivation (Suggested word count 2000 words)
Discuss some of the factors which particularly affect employee performance / absenteeism rates at your chosen organisation. You should also describe and evaluate the current leadership styles, management approaches and motivation techniques used within your chosen organisation with particular emphasis on the impact that different leadership styles may have on employee motivation / morale / well-being in times of change. (1.3, 2.1, 2.2, 2.3, 3.1, 3.2, 3.3)
Section 3 – Groups and Teams (Suggested word count 500 words)
Discuss and evaluate how the organisations approach to groups and team-working (including the effects of technology on team working) affect the levels of absenteeism amongst the workforce. (4.1, 4.2, 4.3)
1. You should write the FORMAL REPORT in MS Word and you should ensure that you produce a coherently written document that responds to each of the assignment tasks in turn.
You should write your answers taking care to explain and evaluate your ideas and knowledge of how the theories and concepts studied in the QCF O&B module apply to the assignment scenario. You should also underpin your analysis with relevant references to theory whilst at the same time ensuring that you write your assignment in your own words as far as is possible.
Please ensure that you check your final work against the assessment criteria grid for completeness – you must have addressed each of the pass assessment criteria to achieve the module
A Pass grade will be awarded for answers that meet the requirements of each question adequately but without any real attempt at analysis or evaluation & with little insight into the campaigns in question.

Assessment Criteria for Merit
To achieve a Merit all of the Pass criteria need to be met, then the tutor will assess whether you have met the Merit Criteria. Each of the Merit criteria must have been met at least once within the assignment.

You have discussed briefly the structure shape and mentioned culture here but you have not specified which structure (functional, geographical etc) or culture (e.g. role, power) that each organisation adopts correctly here. This shows a fundamental lack of understanding that must be addressed by reviewing the learning materials.
Section 2 (LO2,LO3) Achieved
Whilst this is not a great answer, as you do tend to repeat lots of theory, it does cover the specific assessment criteria so the LO is achieved here.
Section 3 (LO4)
Again, mostly repeated theory answer with a little insight as to how team working might be applied in the org with a sentence or two at the end of each section.

You seem to have referenced almost every paragraph in the report so this shows me that not much of what you write is base don your own thought / knowledge. You do not have to repeat all of the theory that you have studied, and would be better off selecting relevant theory to apply and focussing on how the theory applies in the workplace, as this makes for better analysis.

shown enough understanding to meet LO 1 for this module and you are required to rework your answers to Section 1 and resubmit for reassessment.
